Girbau has equipped a self-service launderette in Hauteville (France) designed specially to be used by people with physical and intellectual disabilities. The establishment was set up by CLC Équipements, the Girbau distributor in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, by agreement with the ORSAC association, an organisation that works to integrate this group of people into employment and society.
The new launderette is a ground-breaking project that’s described as a learning laundry because it has twin goals: first, to offer people with disability the chance to wash their own clothes in an accessible setting. Second, to be a learning space so that these people will be able to use a conventional launderette in the future. The customer chose Girbau to fit out the launderette because the ease of use and ergonomics of its machines make them ideal for this project.
